Event description

Join us for our second Vegan Wellbeing Weekend, with comedy, music, arts and crafts, cooking, wellbeing workshops, inspiring talks, a vegan market, and lots of delicious vegan food. The event is fully catered by our vegan chef which means that all your meals and drinks are included in the ticket price. The only thing that will be extra are drinks or snacks from the bar and set donations for the 1 to 1 holistic therapies.

This weekend is run by volunteers, and all of the helpers, performers, speakers and workshop leaders are vegan, and most are giving their time for free. Any proceeds from the weekend will be going to three local animal sanctuaries; Charlie's Place, Brinsley Animal Rescue and Pigs in the Wood.

We will follow the same format as last year - people to arrive after 5pm on the Friday, time to settle into your room and have a look around, evening meal around 6pm, and the comedy night will start around 7pm, with maybe a band or two, to finish around midnight.

Saturday will start with breakfast, then a cold dip in a local freshwater swimming pool, followed by by a whole programme of arts and crafts activities, cooking, health and wellbeing workshops and inspiring talks. There will be a range of holistic 1 to 1 therapies available during the day. The evening meal will be around 6pm ready for the bands to start around 7pm, to finish around midnight.

Sunday will start with breakfast, followed by the vegan market and more arts and crafts activities, before lunch at 1pm, which will be a special birthday afternoon tea for Vegan Queen V :).

This weekend is mainly aimed at adults only, so I would get a babysitter and enjoy a weekend away. You can bring children with you but there will not be any child specific activities. There is a games room with toys and games for children to enjoy with you.

Unfortunately no dogs are allowed in the venue other than assistance dogs.

The accommodation is in the beautiful Georgian manor house at Lea Green, but this is youth hostel, shared bunkbed accommodation, not luxury. Bedding is provided in the house, but a few people were chilly last year so if you get cold you could bring a blanket. Toiletries and towels are not provided in the showers.

You can also choose to camp or stay in a campervan, there are no electric hook ups but there is a toilet and a kitchen for the campers. Main toilets and showers for the campers and campervanners are in the sports hall. You can also choose to be a day visitor and stay elsewhere.

Car parking is free. The whole of the downstairs of the venue is wheelchair accessible and there are 10 wheelchair accessible bedrooms.

Bring cash for the bar and the vegan market place :)
