Vegetable Growing in Containers
Description
We are delighted to have teamed up with Kaipatiki Project to bring you this hands-on workshop for anyone keen to learn how to grow your own herbs, salad greens and much more in containers. Plus help us plant up containers to start our little community garden here at Highbury House!
In this workshop you will learn the best soil mixes and planting media; how and what to plant in pots/containers; and some basic techniques and tips for successful planting and plant care. Perfect for anyone wanting to grow their own vegetables, particularly where you have limited access to land eg living in an apartment or renting. As you will be helping us plant up some containers to start our small community garden here at Highbury House, we welcome anyone keen on being involved in maintaining these as part of the Friends of Highbury House.
This free event will be held on Sunday, 8 November 10am - 12pm. You are welcome to bring a large pot with you and gloves if you have them and we will provide some soil and plants to get you started.
Family friendly, however we do ask that children under the age of 16 are accompanied by an adult. Spaces limited to 16 attendees.
