Propagating California Native Plants from Cuttings with Tim Becker

Flex your green thumb by learning about California native plant vegetative propagation with a variety of native plant specimens from the Theodore Payne Foundation Gardens. Students will learn how to start and grow plants from cuttings in this hands-on session. This informative course is suitable for both professionals and anyone interested in learning propagation techniques for their home or community garden. Each participant will leave with a flat of 50 starts for their own garden! Class includes an informative tour of the TPF propagation facilities. All materials provided.
Part of this workshop is held outdoors, we strongly encourage closed-toe shoes, warm layers, and a water bottle.
Tim Becker is the Theodore Payne Foundation’s Director of Horticulture where he oversees plant production, nursery operations, and horticultural education focused on California native plants. With a background in Environmental Studies and Agroecology from UC Santa Cruz, he brings expertise in sustainable landscape practices and ecological horticulture. Through his work, he leads efforts to promote biodiversity, natural resource conservation, and habitat restoration.
