Veggie Patch from Scratch Masterclass - Smithfield

Join permaculturist Kym Ormond for a gardening extravaganza as we explore how to start a vegetable garden from scratch.

Kym has a lifetime of experience in organic gardening and permaculture practice and was the co-owner of Port Adelaide Food Gardening before Garden Goodness Port Adelaide took over the site. Kym has extensive experience with growing vegetables, both for food and as seedlings both wholesale and retail. We are extremely fortunate to have Kym join us for this in-depth session, so bring your notebook and questions, and let's get into the garden!

Whether you have limited space or a big block, Kym will take you through the critical steps of designing your garden, preparing the soil, choosing the right kind of garden bed for your needs and planting the right seeds or seedlings at the right time. Listen as Kym explains how to correctly water and mulch your garden for the best possible harvest, while minimising damage to your crop naturally. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions along the way, and also a longer time for a Q and A session towards the end.
