Veggie Patch from Scratch Masterclass with Kym Ormond
Event description
Join Kym Ormond from Kitchen Farm Adelaide Hills for a gardening masterclass as we explore how to start a vegetable garden from scratch.
Kym has a lifetime of experience in organic gardening and permaculture practice and was the co-owner of Port Adelaide Food Gardening before Garden Goodness Port Adelaide took over the site. Kym is now the nursery manager at Kitchen Farm Adelaide Hills, an organic nursery and urban farm based in the exciting Newenham development in the Adelaide Hills.
We are extremely fortunate to have Kym join us for this in-depth session, so bring your notebook and questions, and let's get into the garden.
Whether you have limited space or a big block, Kym will take you through the critical steps of designing your garden, preparing the soil, choosing the right kind of garden bed for your needs and planting the right seeds or seedlings at the right time.
Listen as Kym explains how to correctly water and mulch your garden for the best possible harvest, while minimising damage to your crop naturally.Â
You'll have the opportunity to ask questions along the way, and also a longer time for a Q and A session towards the end.Â
This workshop forms part of Garden Goodness Port Adelaide's annual Fruit Tree Sale, running from Friday 16th August to Monday 26th August 2024. Special deals will be available on the day, along with specialist advice from your friendly local garden centre.Â
N.B. The address for this workshop is still being finalised, although it is provisionally at Garden Goodness Port Adelaide. Further updates will be made in the Facebook event for this workshop and will also be updated on Humanitix as changes are made. The workshop will be held in the Port Adelaide area, regardless of any changes.
