Vegie Garden Planning 101

Do you look lovingly through the seed catalogues each winter and dream of what may be?  Have you noticed that sometimes your plants aren’t all able to fit or that where you want to put your tomatoes, the broadbeans are still growing? Then this is the session for you. This session introduces you to garden planning and it covers:

• Different garden ideas – eg permaculture, biointensive, square metre beds, raised beds, no dig etc
• What will I grow? when can I eat it? what will I preserve?
• Plant rotation, perennials v annuals, green manures
• Putting your garden together – week by week? Month by month? Season by season?

At the end of this session, you will understand the choices you will need to consider for your garden and be able to start to plan from buying seed or plants to eating or preserving your harvest.
