VERBAL SELF DEFENCE - With Yasmin Poole

In today's political landscape, knowing how to navigate difficult conversations, challenge misinformation and respond to bad-faith arguments is more important than ever.

Join Yasmin Poole, diversity advisor, speaker and writer, for a practical masterclass on Verbal Self-Defence, designed to help you recognise common debating tactics, respond confidently under pressure and stay in control of the conversation.

In this session, Yasmin will:

Break down common rhetorical tactics, including strawmanning, whataboutism and the gish gallop, and how to counter them
Share strategies to stay focused on your message rather than getting caught up in an opponent's arguments
Explore techniques to remain calm and composed when faced with deliberate provocation
Show you how to communicate effectively with your audience, rather than getting drawn into unproductive debates

Whether you're running for office, advocating for change or navigating challenging conversations, this masterclass will equip you with practical tools to communicate with confidence and hold your ground.
