Margarida Pimentel – Group Manager Onboarding and Connections at AEMO
Margarida will explain how AEMO keeps the lights on and will continue to do so despite slowly declining coal generation in a growing economy.
Her LinkedIn profile tells us: An experienced senior manager, navigating the energy industry during a period of dramatic structural change and market reform. Specific expertise in enabling, developing and utilising team capability, developing and implementing change strategies, and building partnerships with stakeholders.
More recently, I have been focused on designing and developing a distributed energy marketplace with customers, communities, market operators, network businesses, market participants and government.
Earlier in my career I have: led teams across a range of technical and commercial processes covering both the electricity and gas sectors; been responsible for procurement and negotiation of major transmission network services; developed national energy forecasts at a time of unprecedented industry change; and significantly enhanced and altered the transmission network connection process.
My management style is proactive, developing and delivering strategic plans. I do this through comprehensive consultation with stakeholders and ensuring the best people are allocated to roles that leverage their strengths whilst encouraging their rapid personal development.
