Step into the opulent world of the French Baroque with Versailles in Love, a program that captures the elegance and emotional depth of 17th-century France. Featuring the works of Jean-Baptiste Lully, Michel Lambert, and Marin Marais performed by an ensemble of distinguished Australian and European artists, this concert explores the delicate interplay between voice and instruments, bringing to life the refined artistry of the era. This intimate program draws on the lyrical beauty of the air de cour and the sensual grace of 17th-century French chamber music, as it would have been heard in the salons and secret corners of Louis XIV’s glittering court. From the grandeur of Versailles to the intimate salons of Paris, these compositions reflect a time when music was both a courtly entertainment and a profound expression of human emotion. Experience the subtle nuances and expressive beauty that define this golden age of French music. Versailles in Love is an invitation to lose yourself in the musical language of passion.
