Vertebrate pesticide induction training 2026-27 North West Local Land Services
Description
Join North West Local Land Services for our free Vertebrate pesticide induction training courses to learn safe, effective use of baits and pesticides to control foxes, wild dogs, feral pigs, and rabbits.
Event details:
If you’re new to pest control, your accreditation has expired, or you prefer face-to-face training, this course is perfect for you. We are offering free training courses for landholders to attend in 2026 and 2027.
Vertebrate pesticide induction training (VPIT) (approx. 3 hours).
Our VPIT course covers:
legislation and legal obligations
baiting techniques
toxicity
storage
transport
how to reduce non-target exposure.
After successfully completing the course, participants will be certified to use 1080, Pindone, PAPP and RHDV baits for 5 years on their land.
Canid pest ejector (CPE) training, optional (approx. 1.5-2 hours).
This is a one-off introductory course for landholders wanting to know more about using this tool for wild dog and fox control.
Additional details:
Light morning tea and lunch will be provided.
You must be 18 years or older to obtain baits or pesticides.
No prior knowledge or experience is required to complete this training - all training materials will be supplied on the day.
