Join Central West Local Land Services for this free half-day Vertebrate Pesticide Induction Training (VPITT) course for landholders. Become accredited to use 1080, pindone and PAPP baits to control foxes, wild dogs, feral pigs and rabbits on your property.
The course covers the legal responsibilities, safety requirements and practical considerations for the effective use of baits and pesticides.
You will learn about vertebrate pesticides, their use and how to manage risks, including:
legislation and legal obligations
baiting techniques
toxicity
storage
transport
how to reduce non-target exposure.
Accreditation will last 5 years
All landholders have a general biosecurity duty to control feral pest animals on their land. This course meets the requirements to acquire and use 1080, Pindone, RHDV, or PAPP baits in NSW.
