    Join us for the third annual Very Short Film Festival held on Friday 26 May at Spring Bay Mill - a sustainable events venue on the east coast of lutriwita/tasmania. 

    Be the first to see some of the best short films from across Australia at this premiere screening event. Don’t miss out on this chance to mingle with filmmakers, film cinephiles and industry giants including legendary actors Essie Davis and Marta Dusseldorp.

    There will also be a special screening of this year's Oscar nominated short animation 'An Ostrich Told Me the World is Fake and I Think I Believe It'  by Australian filmmaker Lachlan Pendragon. 

    Premiere Screening Event: Friday 26 May 2022, 5:00pm 

    • Event includes screening of the nominated films as well as a special screening of award-winning Australian short films; award ceremony; dinner and live music.
    • The evening will be hosted by Matilda Boseley from the Guardian Australia 
    • Late night live music by Indie duo, Runaway Belles
    • Enjoy delicious local food and hospitality 
    • Come for a sleepover with award-winning accommodation available on site

    About the Very Short Film Festival

    The Very Short Film Festival is a platform for diverse Australian voices to share their stories with the world. Filmmakers get creative with a short 2-5 minute film that includes a reference to the 2023 signature theme 'CHIP', for a chance to win a range of cash prizes, mentorship, all expenses paid flights and accommodation to attend this event in Tasmania.
