Veterinary Waste Minimisation Workshop

Thank you to all those who registered for the Veterinary Waste Minimisation Workshop. Unfortunately, we received a very low uptake for this event, so sadly we have to cancel. We still believe this is a very important area where we can share ideas and improve on the waste that the veterinary and agricultural industries experience, so we will endeavour to build a resource package together that we can share with you.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to meet or discuss further, please do not hesitate to contact me via email rbacoordinator@gmail.com or give me a call on 022 438 4496.

Once again, thank you for your interest and support.

Maree Hamilton
Selwyn Responsible Business Network Coordinator.

We would like to invite you to join us for an informative evening to share ideas on how we can minimise, repurpose and manage packaging, medical and other materials commonly used in the veterinary and farming sectors.

Veterinary Clinics pose greater waste challenges than other industries due to the wide variety of work undertaken on-site and the specific issues associated with handling animals, vaccines, and medical waste.  The evening will focus on ways to reduce and repurpose waste materials encountered within the veterinary and farming sectors.

We will be joined by three speakers who will share their expertise, passions, challenges and successes:

Tonya Williams | Selwyn Rakaia Vets.

Tonya has worked for Selwyn Rakaia Vets for 11 years and is a true advocate for minimising and repurposing medical and other veterinary specific materials.

Graham Wells, along with his wife Adele, own Twin River Dairies

Milking 800 cows in Dunsandel for 23 years, with an interest in reducing on-farm waste.

Robin Willis, Area Manager for large animals | Zoetis NZ

Zoetis is a global animal health company with over 70 years of experience delivering quality medicines and vaccines.  Zoetis is leading the way with several product stewardship initiatives, including partnering with veterinary practices in a recycling programme for Teatseal and the livestock vaccine range.
