Nelson AI Sandbox VIBE-ATHON

What could you create in a weekend?

Bring your curiosity, your ideas and your experience to the Nelson AI Sandbox VIBE-ATHON. Returning for its second year, this free community event brings people together to explore AI, tackle real problems and discover what they can create as a team.

Whether you already build with AI or are keen to try it for the first time, there’s a place for you. Every team benefits from different perspectives, practical knowledge and people willing to give something new a go. Meet others, learn by doing and put your ideas to work.

Join us 13–15 November 2026 at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, Nelson Campus, 322 Hardy Street, Nelson. All backgrounds and levels of experience are welcome.

Technical participants: have used AI to build software or have an existing software engineering background and/or a high level of competency in using technology.

Non-Technical participants: need no specific skills, but having a basic understanding with using devices like a laptop or iPad is beneficial.

Register individually. Team formation takes place on Friday the 13th.

Bring your own device, we have a small amount of devices available by request.

The detailed programme and final session times will be sent out before the event.
