FAQs

• Can I enter Werribee Zoo before 10am?

  Werribee Zoo does opens at 9 am. We will be ready to go promptly at 10am, so we recommend not arriving before this time.

• Can we stay at after 2pm?

  Yes, you are welcome to stay and continue enjoying Werribee Zoo until it closes at 5pm.

• Is there an area set aside for Brainwave Families?

  Yes. We will be setting up our Brainwave Hub in The Chongola Hut, to the left as you enter the Zoo near the Reptiles. We’ll be set up there with some activities from 10.15am, cooking a sausage sizzle at 11.30am and we encourage you to enjoy your lunch with us, or stop by throughout the day to regroup.

• Will there be free food provided?

  There will be a sausage sizzle.. You may either bring your own lunch , or purchase within the 4 cafes at the Zoo. We do encourage you to bring your food over to The Chongola Hut, and enjoy it together with Brainwave. We’ll have our Brainwave Hub setup at The Chongola Hut from 10.15am.

• Can volunteers or Brainwave staff help supervise my children?

  No, you are responsible for your children at all times.

• Will there be any organised activities?

  We will have the Brainwave Hub set up at The Outback Wing from 11.15 am where we will have a number of activities for some relaxation and connection and we strongly encourage you some and visit us there during the day.

• Is Werribee Zoo wheelchair accessible?

  Yes. Werribee Zoo was designed to be inclusive for all guests. All public areas and exhibits are accessible by wheelchair. The zoo has an easy-to-follow pathway system, providing easy access for people using wheelchairs. The Zoo offers wheelchair and stroller hire, click here for more information.

• What happens if it rains?

  Our event will go ahead – rain, hail or shine 😊 We recommend you, and your family, dress appropriately for the conditions on the day and be prepared for a wonderful day of connection and fun, whatever the weather.

• What do I do if I can no longer attend the family day?

  Please let LeighAnn, Services Manager, know as soon as possible via email, leighann.nolan@brainwave.org.au.
