Event description

VÍCTOR VALDÉS LATÍN TRÍO

Live music presented by Naughty Noodle Fun Haus at the FunHaus Factory in Gosford.

One of Australia’s leading world music artists. This virtuoso Mexican harpist, singer and dancer has redefined the Harp as a solo and lead instrument. Victor Valdes is a walking encyclopedia of Latin music past and present.

Victor Valdes’ powerful, compelling voice, magical harp and passion for storytelling will take you on a unique sonorous journey through the many emotions of the Latin American musical landscape as he performs with his Mariachi Band!

A walking encyclopedia of Latin music past and present. Victor has redefined the harp as a solo and lead instrument in a multitude of musical contexts. He’s played with everyone from Angus & Julia Stone and Los Lobos to Jimmy Barnes and The Wiggles. He was also named Director’s choice at Bluesfest.

Steeped in the folkloric traditions of his native Mexico. A dancer as well as a musician, Victor began his career as Mexico’s national folkloric dance champion three years in succession. Since re-locating to Australia has taught Latin dance, including at the Sydney Dance Company.

Awarded as “Distinguished Mexican” by the government of Mexico and by the Institute of Mexicans Abroad, and presented by the Embassy of Mexico in Australia, for his successful career and role in disseminating Mexican music and Hispanic culture both in Australia and throughout the world.
