Join us for the VECMOS Masterclass, hosted by the Austin Hospital. 

Liver Limbo to Toxic Tango

Guest speakers for the evening include Georg Auzinger, King’s College Hospital in the UK, Caleb Fisher Intensivist Austin Health and Shaun Green, Head of Toxicology Austin Health.

The evening will explore the challenges of managing critically ill patients requiring ECMO support in liver disease and toxicological emergencies. Sessions will cover ECMO in acute and chronic liver failure, liver ischaemia, patient selection, and decision-making in complex cases, before transitioning into a toxicologist's perspective on when ECMO can play a life-saving role in poisoning and overdose.

The program will also include interactive case discussion, providing an opportunity to apply clinical concepts and to encourage multidisciplinary discussion between various craft groups. 

For organisations outside of Victoria, site tickets are available to provide the opportunity for units to host their own networking event while broadcasting the Masterclass. 

Drinks and light refreshments will be provided for in person attendees.
