APDA Victorian Economic Policy Forum

Victoria’s Economic Future: Taxation, Investment, Growth & Productivity

Held in the lead up to the 2026 Victorian State Election, this forum brings together senior political representatives to discuss the economic choices that will shape Victoria’s next term of government.

Confirmed Speakers

The Hon Colin Brooks MP

Treasurer of Victoria

David Southwick MP

Deputy Leader of the Opposition

Colleen Harkin

Deputy Leader, One Nation Victoria

What’s at stake for Victoria?

Taxation. State debt. Investment. Productivity. Energy. Infrastructure. Business confidence.

These issues affect where businesses invest, whether projects proceed, the cost of doing business, housing delivery and Victoria’s ability to compete for capital, jobs and growth.

This forum will put the key economic questions directly to the speakers:

• How can Victoria attract more private investment?

• What should change in taxation and state finances?

• How can productivity and business confidence be improved?

• What role should energy and infrastructure play in future growth?

• How can Victoria remain competitive with other Australian states?

• What should be prioritised in the next term of government?

The discussion will be professionally moderated, focused and practical, with speakers asked not only what they would do, but how their policies would work in practice.
