A Panel Conversation in Support of Victorian Law Week May 2026

WIRE and our partners The Law and Advocacy Centre for Women, Australian Muslim Women's Centre for Human Rights and the Multicultural Women’s Alliance against Family Violence invite you into a conversation that highlights the issue of misidentification for women and gender diverse people, the impacts and access to safety and justice in the context of family violence.

Join us for a 1-hour presentation including a 30-minute Q+A to conclude.

Hear from a criminal law specialist, family violence practitioners and advocates as we explore issues such as:

·       Who is most likely to be misidentified

·       System and service response failures

·       The cumulative consequences of misidentification

·       How systems can support victim survivors to meaningfully tackle the issue
