Kate is driven to contribute to individual and collective social change through the arts and somatic healing modalities. She works in the space of embodiment through multiple lenses: as a Multi Disciplinary Performance Maker, Director, Movement Researcher, Educator & Integrative Somatic Coach. She runs a company Kate Sherman Projects designing and delivering programs for artists & creatives. She also offers Integrative Somatic Coaching and Facilitates Corporate Deliveries expanding Embodied Awareness and Consciousness under the premise that awareness equals choice.
She facilitates creative processes; guiding emerging artists to deepen and develop their own practice as future change makers. As a performer her most recent project was a video work entitled Ascensio: Aeterna Mutiverse as part of Adelaide Festival Centre’s Moving Image Program 2025. She was the Movement Realiser for Monkey Baa Theatre’s Tour of Possum Magic and was Dramaturgical Support for Scomodo a new dance work. She Directed a new site – specific work entitled Temporary Ecosystems as part of Inner West Fest. Kate is the Head of Movement at The Actors Centre, Lectures in the Movement Department on The Batchelor of Fine Arts Acting at NIDA and at Notre Dame University. Her latest full length work as a performer was Animal which premiered at Theatre Works, APAM and was presented at Dark Mofo Festival, Tasmania. Animal was nominated for 6 Greenroom Awards and won Best Direction, Best Ensemble, Best Sound and Best Lighting Design.
As an educator and coach she is inspired and informed by Somatic Practices such as Authentic Movement, BMC (Body Mind Centering), Gaga, Body Weather Dance and Yoga. As a certified Yoga Teacher (primarily informed by Embodied Flow, a combination of Somatics, Kashmir Shaivism Non Dual Philosophy, BMC (Body Mind Centering) and Somatic Psychology) she draws on ancient eastern practices as well as Mind Body Therapy techniques and Somatic Trauma Therapy practices. She has studied Embodied Flow’s (Yoga) Advanced Teaching Models Body and Mind, completed a Mind Body Therapy Certification, has a certificate in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, A Diploma of NLP and Strategic Coaching, an Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Counselling & a Certificate in Life Coaching, a Grad Cert in Art & Community Engagement and is a NIDA Graduate.
As an Integrative Somatic Coach she draws from her extensive study to meet clients where they are at. With this unique combination of practices she assists her clients to expand, move through blockages, let go, deepen into authentic connection with themselves and move forward in their personal and professional lives to reach their full capabilities and their full potential. Kate combines bottom up and top down approaches to offer an integrative and holistic approach to clients. She also Coaches Embodied Presentation skills, Authentic Communication & The Art of Communication utilising her Acting training from the NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) lens. She works with Actors, Creatives and Humans interested in expanding to be their most dynamic selves so they can reach their desired goals. She works in the Corporate Sector to expand Embodied Awareness and Consciousness under the premise that awareness equals choice.
