Village Social Behaviour Policy
Our Purpose
Village Social was created with one simple idea: everyone deserves a place to belong. We bring people together through fun, welcoming social events to spark genuine friendships and foster a strong sense of community. This Behaviour Policy outlines the standards we expect from all members and attendees so that every event remains safe, respectful, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.
By participating in any Village Social event (in-person or online), you agree to uphold this policy.
Core Values
• Belonging: Everyone is welcome and valued.
• Respect: We treat each other with kindness and consideration.
• Inclusivity: We celebrate diversity and create space for all backgrounds, ages, abilities, and identities.
• Authenticity: We encourage natural conversations and meaningful connections.
• Safety: Physical and emotional safety is our priority.
Expected Behaviours
We ask all participants to:
• Be welcoming and friendly — smile, introduce yourself, and include others in conversations.
• Listen actively and show interest in others.
• Respect personal boundaries and personal space.
• Use inclusive language and avoid assumptions about people’s identities, experiences, or backgrounds.
• Be mindful of the volume of conversations so everyone can participate comfortably.
• Support and encourage one another — celebrate small wins and positive moments.
• Help keep our spaces clean and tidy.
• Follow any specific guidelines provided by event hosts (e.g., venue rules, COVID protocols, dietary considerations).
• Represent Village Social positively, both during events and on our online platforms.
Unacceptable Behaviours
The following behaviours will not be tolerated:
• Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or any form of hate speech based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or any other personal characteristic.
• Unwanted physical contact, sexual harassment, or inappropriate advances.
• Aggressive, intimidating, or disrespectful behaviour (including yelling, insults, or dismissive attitudes).
• Excessive intoxication that impacts others’ enjoyment or safety.
• Disrespecting venue staff or event hosts.
• Taking photos or videos of others without their explicit consent.
• Spreading rumours or engaging in gossip that harms the community.
• Any illegal activity.
Enforcement and Reporting
Village Social organisers and hosts have the right and responsibility to maintain a positive environment. This may include:
• Verbal warnings.
• Asking a participant to leave an event immediately.
• Temporary or permanent bans from future events and online spaces.
• Reporting serious incidents to venue management or authorities where appropriate.
How to Report an Issue
If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this policy, please speak to a Village Social host or organiser as soon as possible. You can also contact us privately via [insert preferred contact method, e.g., email or designated safety contact]. All reports will be taken seriously, handled confidentially, and responded to promptly. We will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who makes a good-faith report.
Our Commitment
Village Social is committed to continuously improving our events and processes to create the warmest, safest community possible. We review this policy regularly and welcome constructive feedback from our members.
Thank you for being part of our village.
By choosing kindness, respect, and openness, you help make Village Social the welcoming community we all deserve.
