Village Soundsystem presents: OBF

OBF touches down in Meanjin with Village Soundsystem - Fusing Roots Reggae, Future Dub, and Afro-Diasporic Bassline, converging at Wollongabba's community hub, Echo and Bounce.

Rico O.B.F, aka Eric Birraux (selecta, composer), is the founding member of O.B.F Sound System, which over twenty years has become one of the top sound systems on the international dub scene.

Their unique and powerful sound draws influences from 1990s UK stepper dub, roots, and rub-a-dub. It flirts and fuses with bass music while absorbing all existing reggae styles. Rico O.B.F has built this sound at the console, combining modern digital audio production with ancestral dub techniques, blending futuristic VSTs with analog effects once used by the pioneers of the genre. Inspired by those who, over the decades, dared to propel reggae and dub into new dimensions,

O.B.F leads its sound system while upholding the traditional values of the sound system movement: experimentation, dedication, sharing, unity, and resourcefulness.
