Stoked to announce an epic night of local Brisbane music is coming to It’s Still A Secret! The night of November 16th sees the 3 bands Vinted Vineer, Miss Mardy and Ixaras taking the stage for your pleasure and your pleasure only.
Vinted Vineer: The Brisbane based two piece that is Vinted Vineer - passionately provide pop-driven shimmers of spacey, washy and simultaneously dancey indie-rock with deep cutting grooves. Drum focused rhythms with bombastically saturated recordings hold each psychedelic journey that are Vinted tracks together through a guitar swirling, spiralling rock-oriented riff-tastic odyssey. Miss Mardy: With angst from the 2000’s New York garage rock revival scene and the emphatics of the DMA’s, Fontaines D.C and WAAX, Miss Mardy comprises of Rhythm Guitarist and Lead Vocalist Danny O’Rourke, Lead guitarist Max Hodge and Rhythm Section; Kyle Bedford (Drums) and Tom Doherty (Bass). The band began in early 2021, teaching each other guitar and other instruments, as well as bonding over their diverse music tastes. What sets the band apart is their ability to create a diverse range of feelings across their music, as well as their commitment to their work. Since starting their successful social media in 2022 in collaboration with Sebastian Harman, they have since accumulated over 10,000+ views on YouTube and have played their first few sold out gigs. Ixaras: Born and raised on Meanjin land, Filipino/Cambodian musician ‘ixaras’ (Ixara Dorizac), is a 16 year old singer/songwriter slowly making her mark in the music scene. After scoring a spot as a finalist in the 2023 unearthed high competition, she has made it clear that it’s only going up from here. Supporting artists such as Platonic Sex, Tyne James Organ and Luca Brasi, as well as winning a slot to perform at BIGSOUND this year. Her music boasts vulnerability, catchy melodies and impactful punch, drawing parallels to artists like beabadoobee, Indigo De Souza and Wet Leg. Tickets are cheaper online!
