Vinyl Records Eco Art Workshop
Event description
If retro & vintage styles are your vibe then come along to our August Eco Art workshop.
Our facilitator, Matt, will show you how to safely manipulate and cut vinyl records to repurpose into funky and functional necessities like a photo frame, desk caddy or document holder. After our 2-hour workshop, you'll be able to take your skills back home to expand your collection into other vinyl-inspired homewares like vases, bookshelves or wine holders!
In this workshop you'll have the opportunity to make 2 bespoke pieces, which includes embellishing each with collage techniques before sealing your final creations with a fixative.
NB: This workshop requires working with a soldering iron.
Gloves and masks will be supplied to all participants. We recommend
wearing long sleeves and closed-in shoes. We supply all tools, materials and light refreshments to help you through the morning.
Suitable for beginners and lovers of upcycling, ages 13+.
About Matt
My conserFASHION/ ARTivism brand, Infinife Designs, uses collage/mixed media to visually remind us of our connectedness with the natural world. I often anthropomorphize animal and plant biological systems to give them a form we as humans can hopefully understand and empathise with more intimately. With my latest collection 'SOS: Save Our Symbionts' I seek to creatively engage the general public with the plight of our marine environments and the devastation they face through mass coral bleaching and the fossil fuel industry.
