A special preview screening of Life Could Be A Dream will be held at 6:00PM at Palace Cinema Byron Bay, presented as a community fundraiser for Find My Wild.
A portion of all ticket sales will directly support Find My Wild’s work supporting humans living in, leaving, and rebuilding after domestic violence and abuse through practical resources, online programs, and community-led support pathways.
Distributed nationally by Maslow Entertainment, Life Could Be A Dream will release in cinemas across Australia on May 14, 2026.
About the Film
The feature film debut from award-winning Australian filmmaker Jasmin Tarasin, Life Could Be A Dream stars Maeve Dermody in a quietly devastating and luminous performance alongside Alexander England, and introduces Sonny McGee in a breakthrough role. The screenplay is written by acclaimed author Courtney Collins (The Burial, Bird).
Described as a fractured fairytale of resilience and grace, the film follows Sarah, a forty-year-old woman standing at the threshold of a life she has never fully lived. As she and her teenage son navigate their way toward freedom, they must confront both external threats and the inherited stories Sarah has long believed about love, rescue and survival.
At its heart, the film explores the fierce and fragile bond between mother and son, and asks: how do we break cycles and write new stories for ourselves?
