About Paul McCarthy:
Professor Paul X. McCarthy is an author, technology entrepreneur and research leader.

His key research interests are in computational social science — using data science to understand and gain new insights and perspectives about emerging global economic, business and social trends. In collaboration with researchers and clients from around the world he is exploring hitherto unseen patterns that are now visible due to the proliferation of 'unconventional data' and new analytical techniques such as AI and Machine Learning.

McCarthy's book Online Gravity explains how technology has rewritten the laws of economics and how individuals and businesses can prosper by understanding the new Digital DNA of business.

McCarthy is co-founder and CEO of League of Scholars a data-science led specialist global research analytics startup who work with Universities and Publishers such as News Corporation and Nature to help identify research leaders and rising early career research stars from around the world as well as emerging trends in research across all fields and disciplines.

Please note, there is 1 full scholarship available per cohort for a pre-revenue/pre-funded startup. Note on your application if you would like to be considered for the scholarship.

Program structure:
The program is a combination of interactive workshops and mentoring over a 7-week period. You don't need to give up your day job to attend, but need to be available each Friday (for 6 weeks) and for half days, day one and the final Friday (week 7).

You'll also want time to complete the online modules and activities each week and take advantage of the many opportunities, support and one-on-one business advisor sessions, included as part of the program.
