Welcome to Mine Connect!

This is a peer support network of MATES Connectors and ASIST trained workers.

These sessions are designed to provide you with ongoing support, encouragement and an opportunity for sharing the challenges and positives associated with being a Connector and/or ASIST worker.

These sessions are designed to be “peer led”, meaning they are to help you to support, encourage and learn from each other. We also hope they provide you with an opportunity to refresh and enhance the skills you developed in Connector or ASIST training and help build and grow your confidence.

CODE of CONDUCT

By participating in the Mine Connect session, you agree:

✓ That all information shared is confidential and will not be repeated or discussed outside of the session with anyone.

✓ To take turns in talking, allowing others to voice their opinions and make comments. We ask that you don't interrupt each other.

✓ To respect the viewpoints of others. We ask that you listen respectfully and attentively, and you will withhold judgment about other's views.

✓ Not use aggressive and/or violent or derogatory language, as it will not be tolerated.

✓ To show respect for others in the session and stay focused on the discussion and avoid responding to emails etc. during the session. We ask that you make a conscious effort to listen actively to hear what is being said.

✓ To try to make this experience a good one. We are all responsible for how the session and the discussion goes.

✓ To be willing to voice disagreements in a respectful manner. But we ask that if you disagree with someone's idea that you criticise the idea, not the person. Please try to be sensitive to each other's needs and concerns. Try to speak up if you feel uncomfortable in anyway. Avoid derogatory or sarcastic comments at the expense of others.

✓ That all questions are good ones. We encourage you to ask questions of each other no matter how simplistic you might think they are. Chances are there are others who have the same question. The goal of the session is to learn from each other.
