"These sessions have been an effective way for me to learn. I look forward to jumping online every week, being still, and learning. It's become part of my routine.”
Virtual MyTime: Challenging Behaviour and Impulse Control
Description
What is your child's behaviour trying to tell you?
Behaviour is a means of communication, often in response to unmet needs, frustration, fear, anxiety, or discomfort. Supporting your child's behaviour can help families minimise triggers and teach children effective ways to communicate their needs.
In this session of Kiind’s Virtual MyTime, we’ll be joined by Paula, founder of Sing Move Regulate to discuss how we as carers can support the health development of impulse control at home and in the community.
Together we’ll be covering:
A brief background of the executive function skillset and the 10 functions.
Information about the function of impulse (inhibitory) control and recognising impulsive behaviours.
Practical tools, fun activities and games that carers can play with their child to consolidate learning and minimise escalation of behaviours.
