Event description

Course description:
This course covers advanced technical concepts under the Workers Compensation legislation and provides an in-depth working knowledge of injury and claims management practices. Content focuses on best practice recovery and return to work considerations, lump sum entitlements, review of employer obligations pursuant to the legislation, discontinuance and reductions, weekly payment reimbursement requests and the dispute resolution process.

Learning objectives:

On completion of this course you will have an in-depth understanding of:

  • Best practice recovery and return to work considerations
  • Lump sum entitlements 
  • Employer obligations pursuant to the legislation termination and reductions
  • Weekly payment reimbursement requests and 
  • The dispute resolution process

Recommended for:

This course is recommended for participants who have completed Role of the Return to Work Coordinator course or who possess an in-depth knowledge and / or at least 6 months experience working in the Victorian Workers Compensation scheme.

Recommended pre-learning:

Role of the Return to Work Coordinator course (either face to face or virtual event)

About the Trainer: Megan Hansson, Learning & Development Specialist 

Meg Hansson is the Learning and Development Specialist at EML and has worked in workers’ compensation, return to work and occupational health and safety for over 20 years. During this time Meg has applied her skills, knowledge and experience in a range of roles including as a trainer and facilitator, learning designer, advisor , Mental Health and WHS Specialist. Meg has extensive experience interpreting legislation and is passionate about helping learners achieve their career and study goals.

Meg holds a Diploma of Workplace Health and Safety, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma of Fitness and a Diploma of Human Resources.

Duration: 3.5 hours
