Parenting is never one-size-fits-all—and when both you and your child are neurodivergent, the journey can feel beautifully unique, deeply complex, and sometimes a little isolating. There’s something special about parenting a child whose brain reflects your own—together, you write your own rules.

Join this warm and welcoming MyTime peer group for neurodivergent parents and carers (diagnosed or self-identified) as we explore affirming strategies for co-regulation and emotional support, managing executive functioning and overwhelm and celebrating neurodivergent joy.

There will be opportunities to ask questions and share your experiences with other parents who are navigating similar paths.

This event is facilitated by Kristy

Kristy is the proud parent of Dash, an inquisitive, gentle-hearted, and wonderfully funny 9-year-old. Dash is Autistic, has ADHD, and global development delay. Kristy likes to say that Dash "got it from his Mama", as she identifies as AuDHD herself. A passionate advocate for her family, Kristy thrives as a parent peer facilitator, dedicated to sharing her insights, celebrating neurodivergent joy, and connecting with other families on a similar journey.

Belongside Families (formerly known as Kindred) is an independent not-for-profit organisation providing free support for families raising children with disability, delay, or autism.

Who is this event for?

The Autism MyTime peer group was created to support families raising Autistic children. While the topics and guest speakers are tailored to their experiences, we also warmly welcome parents and carers who are:
- Exploring an autism diagnosis for their child, or
- Raising a child with a disability or developmental delay and feel the topic may be relevant to their parenting journey.

During a MyTime session, there is a guided discussion and a space to connect with other families. These discussions offer an opportunity for parents and caregivers to share and learn from each other.
