Event description

Neuroaffirming care is an approach that recognises and respects neurological differences. It focuses on understanding and supporting autistic children by embracing their unique experiences and fostering environments where they can thrive.

Join this Autism MyTime peer group with guest speaker Nicky from Little Big Therapy to explore the principles of neuroaffirming care. Through real-life examples and open discussions, Nicky will guide parents and caregivers in understanding what neuroaffirming care looks like and how to integrate it into daily family life.

This session offers a supportive space to ask questions, share experiences, and gain practical insights for creating an inclusive and empowering environment for your family.

This event is facilitated by Kristy

Kristy is the proud parent of Dash, an inquisitive, gentle-hearted, and wonderfully funny 9-year-old. Dash is Autistic, has ADHD, and global development delay. Kristy likes to say that Dash "got it from his Mama", as she identifies as AuDHD herself. A passionate advocate for her family, Kristy thrives as a parent peer facilitator, dedicated to sharing her insights, celebrating neurodivergent joy, and connecting with other families on a similar journey.
