Communication isn’t just about spoken words. Autistic children have many wonderful ways to connect through gestures, facial expressions, AAC, sign, or even by repeating favourite phrases and scripts.

This session is about celebrating the rich diversity of our children’s communication and discovering ways to respond so they feel truly seen and understood. Together, we’ll discuss how to recognise and support your child’s ‘voice’, in whatever form it takes.

How to recognise the many ways your child communicates

Why echolalia, scripts, and non-spoken communication are meaningful

Encouraging connection and confidence in everyday interactions

Practical ways to respond so your child feels understood and valued

Kristy is a proud mum to Dash, who is Autistic and has ADHD, just like his mum. She’s passionate about connecting with other families and celebrating neurodivergent joy and all the strengths that come with thinking differently.

Parents and carers of Autistic and neurodivergent children 0 - 7 years, including those who are exploring or awaiting a diagnosis.
