For younger Autistic children, emotional regulation is something that grows slowly, with time, support, and lots of co-regulation. What looks like ‘acting out’ is often a child trying to communicate feelings that are too big to manage on their own.

In this session, we’ll discuss how to respond with empathy instead of urgency, and how to support your child’s emotional growth while also caring for yourself in the process.

In this peer group we’ll explore
• How emotional regulation begins with connection and safety
• Practical ways to co-regulate through everyday challenges
• Ways to stay calm and connected, even during emotional moments
• Why it’s important to hold space for your own emotions while supporting theirs

This group is facilitated by Kristy
Kristy is a proud mum to Dash, who is Autistic and has ADHD, just like his mum. She’s passionate about connecting with other families and celebrating neurodivergent joy and all the strengths that come with thinking differently.

Parents and carers of Autistic and neurodivergent children 0-7 years, including those who are exploring or awaiting a diagnosis.
