Beyond Net Zero: Designing the Biophilic City

Net zero has helped mobilise climate finance and regulation, but emissions alone don’t capture what makes a city truly liveable, resilient and connected to nature.

Join Biophilic Cities Australia for a hands-on workshop bringing together academics, local government, developers and industry consultants to co-design a real biophilic city concept, grounded in an actual Australian site.

Working in small, mixed groups, participants will take a candidate precinct through site framing, analysis and facilitated visioning, before bringing the ideas together into a shared design concept with clear next steps towards a genuine project brief.

The workshop will contribute to:

• A site-grounded concept for a biophilic city beyond Net Zero

• Material for a collaborative white paper

• A draft declaration and policy recommendations for state and local governments

Come help shape a new vision for Australian cities — starting with a real place, and turning ideas into action.
