Visioning Community Care: A Women Unite! × “One Another” Film Preview
Event description
Doors open: 6:30 p.m.
Event Starts: 7:00 p.m.
Join us for a wonderful evening of conversation, community, and care. We’ll be meeting up at Movement on Montrose to view clips from One Another. This forthcoming documentary takes a look at the ways friendships support and shape us as they’re broken, tested, and remade.
In between clips, we’ll have curated conversations with the filmmakers, Amber Love and Andrea Raby, and leaders from Women Unite! and Chicago United Solidarity Project. These discussions will connect concepts of kinship and connection to mutual aid movements and invite attendees to participate in the beautiful movement work happening throughout the city.
Our event tickets are sliding-scale, which allows folks to pay based on their available resources. The below graphic provides some recommendations to help figure out what rate makes sense for you. Through this approach we hope to make our event more accessible and also push back against the capitalist underpinnings of fundraising and philanthropy. Thanks to Alexis J. Cunningfolk (wortsandcunning.com) and Britt Hawthorne (embracingequity.org) for their work, which informed and inspired this!
