Wooragee Landcare visit to Acres and Acres
Event description
Acres and Acres is a social enterprise that started after the
fires in Corryong. It's a community market garden that is supplying fresh vegetables, providing paid work, and
working for community resilience. They are a co-operative, their mission is "to create and support a network of Growers across the Upper Murray and North East Victoria, to build
resilience through a closed food loop in our local area".
Wooragee Landcare has received partial funding for the trip from Indigo Shire’s Community Sustainability Grant. We are keen for small local growers/producers/organisers in our area to come together to explore potential models and opportunities in our region, that promote local, sustainable food growing and distribution networks.
We are hiring a bus, but it is also possible to drive in your own car.
Josh Collins, the founder, will give us a guided tour and then we will have lunch at Cafe Corryong Brew using produce from the garden at Acres and Acres.
