VISIT PALESTINE POSTER EXHIBITION - OPENING EVENT
Event description
Since 2022, the Visit Palestine poster exhibition has traveled across Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and now so-called Australia. Showcasing a selection of original!!! posters of resistance spanning 3 decades, each poster exhibited stands as an undeniable testament to the 77+ year fight for Palestinian self-determination and liberation.
Please join us on Friday 1st August to kick off this chapter of such a monumental project. We will have great sounds, an interview with founding member of the Visit Palestine Poster Project, and delicious food by donation - made by community for community. Although the posters are not for sale, an accompanying booklet is, so be sure to grab one on the night.
Proceeds raised from the opening event will go towards Palestine, Sudan, and First Nations mutual aids, with a percentage also going to keeping future Visit Palestine exhibitions traveling throughout different cities across so-called Australia, ensuring organising is a possibility to all who can and want to share these posters, without the financial burden of self-funding. All drink sales on the night go back to Black Spark in support of keeping this deeply needed community hub going.
This event will be taking place on stolen Wurundjeri land. Sovereignty was never ceded. This land always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.
