Visual Arts Design Challenge Series
This series of four sessions will run fortnightly during the term. Each session will focus on a different skill in the Fab Lab that can be transferred to the classroom.
Participants are required to register for all four sessions. The design you create in Session 1 will be applied to different applications in Session 2, 3 & 4 so it is anticipated that you attend each of the 4 sessions.
Please bring your laptop with Adobe Illustrator installed. If you are a pre-service Teacher, who does not have access to Adobe software then you can use our laptops installed with Affinity.
On booking, please provide your current VIT registration details for Teachers or your WWCC for pre-service Teachers and present on arrival to meet our Child Safety requirements for Chisholm.
Please register your car rego on booking so we can provide you with free parking on the Chisholm campus.
Overview of 4 Week Design Challenge Series
Session #1 | Tour of Casey Tech School Design Challenge #1 – 3D Printing •Create a simple freehand design •Import into Fusion 360 •Prepare to 3D print as an earring or other •Mould 3D print to a curved form |
Session #2 | Design Challenge #2 – Laser cutting and etching •Use Adobe Illustrator/Affinity to modify design from Session 1 •Prepare to laser cut as a key chain & coaster |
Session #3 | Design Challenge #3 – Large format printing •Use Adobe Illustrator/Affinity to modify designs from Session 2 •Sublimation print onto a pencil case |
Session #4 | Design Challenge #4 – Sublimation printing •Use Adobe Illustrator/Affinity to modify design from session 3 as a custom cut sticker |
