    Event description

Join us in the Homestead Galleries for a kōrero and workshop with artist Rozana Lee in relation to her solo exhibition, Windows to the World.

To begin, Rozana will discuss her research on the migration of cultural motifs such as the Kawung batik, and her numerous encounters with the four-petal motif during her participation in the Zhelezka Project mobile residency, where she travelled along the Silk Road in Central Asia in mid-2023.

Following this, participants will be invited to explore the rich tapestry of their personal and cultural identity through the language of symbols and images. Whether drawing from personal experiences, cultural heritage, or shared narratives, participants will collaboratively create a visual representation of identity on a shared piece of fabric. This immersive experience encourages individuals to express and reflect upon the elements that hold significance in their lives.
