FREE School Holiday Program: Macramé with love

Discover the art of macramé in a relaxed and creative 3-hour workshop for young adults aged 19–24.

No previous experience is required!

Learn basic knotting and braiding techniques while exploring colours, textures and materials. With step-by-step guidance, you’ll create your own piece to take home or give as a gift - choose from a keychain, mini decorative panel or Christmas ornament.

A fun, hands-on experience designed to encourage creativity, focus and confidence.

Location: Port Macquarie Public Library

Duration: 3 hours

Age Group: 19-24 years

Cost: FREE

Places: Limited to 10 participants

What Participants Will Learn

• Fundamental macramé knotting techniques (square knot, spiral knot, lark's head knot and variations).

• How to plan and assemble a piece from start to finish.

• Combining colors, textures and materials.

• Developing fine motor coordination and focus.

• Creative confidence and the autonomy to keep creating at home.

• Basic finishing and presentation techniques.

Workshop Activities

• Introduction to macramé: materials, tools and basic knots

• Guided practice of essential knots

• Creating a piece of their choice: keychain or mini decorative panel or Christmas ornament in macramé

• Final share and photos of the creations
