Viva Holidays - Fabric Mosaic Art
Description
FREE School Holiday Program: Fabric Mosaic Art
Facilitated by Emma Viana
Organized by Caju Cultural, proudly supported by the Office for Youth
This colourful, hands-on textile art workshop invites participants to transform fabric scraps into textured artworks using a no-sew fabric‑tucking technique inspired by Kinusaiga.
With a focus on Latin American colours, patterns, nature and creativity, participants explore bold combinations of fabric, texture and design inspired by tropical plants, animals, flowers, geometric patterns, music, dance and landscapes.
Participants will:
Choose or create a simple design.
Prepare materials and use tools safely.
Select fabrics based on colour and texture.
Cut, layer and tuck fabric into the prepared surface.
Experiment with bold combinations and decorative details.
Complete and take home their own textile artwork.
No prior art or sewing experience needed.
