VLCRC Resilience Breakfast #2
Description
Resilience Breakfast – Networking Event for the Community and Disaster Sector
Join us for a relaxed and engaging morning as we bring together local not-for-profits and community sector organisations for our Resilience Breakfast on July 30th, 7:30am - 10:30am.
This month's topic, "Who Are the People We Support, and What Do They Need From Us?", will explore the diverse needs of the communities we serve and how we can better prepare to support them before, during, and after times of disruption. Together, we'll discuss community vulnerabilities, identify gaps in support, and share practical approaches to delivering inclusive, person-centred services that strengthen resilience.
We'll have local guest speakers sharing their experiences and perspectives:
Calleigh Bristow, Nerang Neighbourhood Centre and Dylan Rackley, The Lavender Corner – supporting LGBTQIA+ inclusion and preparedness.
Suheir Gedeon (MCCGC) - Giving voice to the Refugee community experience.
Megan Tyler (PCCS) – mental health support needs during challenging times.
Connect with other community leaders and service providers, hear from guest speakers, exchange experiences, and contribute to meaningful conversations about understanding our communities and building stronger support networks.
Enjoy a barista-made coffee and a light breakfast while networking in a welcoming and informal environment.
Whether you're a frontline worker, manager, volunteer coordinator, or organisational leader, this breakfast provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships, learn from others, and collaborate with others across the sector to build a more resilient and connected community.
