Vocal Improv for All with Kyle Schmolze!
Event description
We are lucky to welcome Vocal Improv Facilitator Kyle Schmolze to the Twin Cities!
If you enjoy singing in community, you will find this a fun and heartmind expanding gathering, not to be missed!
Vocal improv is the art of making up music on the spot using your voice and body. You’ll be guided through a series of playful games to connect with each other through spontaneous sounds, melodies, and rhythms. It’s about exploring your voice, being creative, and building something unique together without the need for sheet music or prior singing experience.
Kyle Schmolze (aka “Seabass”) is a vocal improviser and facilitator from Oakland, CA. He’s studied directly with vocal improv teachers Dave Worm and Rhiannon, attended Bobby McFerrin’s Circle Song School, and is currently pursuing facilitation training with the Musica du Circulo school in Brazil. In 2022, he helped start The Downbeat, now a large diverse community of singers and vocal improvisers in the Bay Area which has been singing together every week for over 2 years.
