Can the church get behind Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as they debate a Voice to Parliament?

Hear from First Nations community leaders on the hope & challenges of a Voice.

Featuring:

  • Uluru Statement from the Heart signatory, Gabriel Bani, a direct descendent of Athe Bari, Head Man of Wagadagam, a sovereign nation in the Torres Strait;
  • Professor Gracelyn Smallwood OAM Former Member of the Indigenous Voice National Co-Design Group that developed the National Voice proposal under the Liberal government;
  • Member of the First Nations Regional Dialogue Perth (one of several dialogues held around Australia that culminated in the Uluru Convention), Geoffrey Stokes, who walked out of the dialogue in opposition to the Voice; and
  • Maori Anglican priest Dr Rangi Nicholson, who believes churches should undertake visioning for the nation that contributes to Indigenous values.

This conference is for you if:

  • You want to understand the Voice to Parliament debate;
  • You want to understand the concerns about the loss of land rights or culture;
  • You're ambivalent about a Voice to Parliament; or
  • You want to think productively about a Voice.

We are excited to have a community-led event and be fed and watered for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea by a local caterer.
