Voices of Connection: ArabicLine Launch and International Volunteer Day Celebration
Event description
Join us for a special afternoon hosted by Friends for Good to celebrate two important milestones: the launch of our ArabicLine service and International Volunteer Day!
We’re thrilled to introduce ArabicLine, a new initiative offering phone support to Arabic-speaking individuals who may be experiencing loneliness. This service, made possible through the City of Melbourne’s Community Inclusion Grants for 2024-25, aims to provide culturally sensitive, compassionate support to Arabic-speaking communities, creating a vital space for connection and understanding.
In addition to launching ArabicLine, we’re celebrating International Volunteer Day (IVD) on December 5. This global observance highlights the essential contributions of volunteers in tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges. With millions of volunteers across Australia, their impact on communities is profound. We’re especially proud to recognise our Friends for Good volunteers, who dedicate their time and passion to supporting our mission to address loneliness. Their compassion and commitment are at the heart of our work, and IVD is the perfect occasion to acknowledge, thank, and celebrate their invaluable contributions.
This is a FREE community event open to everyone! Afternoon tea and entertainment will be provided,
making it a wonderful opportunity to relax, connect, and enjoy the festivities. Friends for Good is committed to
making this event inclusive and accessible for all, welcoming people of all ages, backgrounds,
and abilities to join us in this celebration.
Bring friends, family, and colleagues to enjoy an inspiring afternoon of community connection, appreciation, and
recognition. Join us in celebrating the launch of ArabicLine and honouring the amazing Friends for Good volunteers
who make a difference every day. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a day dedicated to community spirit,
compassion, and resilience!
