Description

Join us on 6 November for Voices Under Fire: Stories from Gaza, a night to bear witness to the lives of Gazans experiencing genocide.

For one night, we'll come together as a community to read the poetry and first hand accounts of Palestinians who have had to flee their homeland, those who have been martyred, and those who are still surviving the daily nightmare.

We'll be joined by respected voices from the Palestinian resistance and ally movement, including Yousef Alreemawi, Jordy Silverstein, Miki Perkins, Jinghua Qian and Joan Nestle.

All ticket sales will go to families currently in Gaza to help them buy food, medicine and other necessities.

Details:

When: Thursday 6 November 2025. Doors open at 6.15pm, readings start at 6.30pm

At Solidarity Hall (upstairs) in Victorian Trades Hall in Carlton

In solidarity,

Hannah and Alice

Who are we? We are two mates, Hannah Shomali (Palestinian Australian) and Alice Drury (white settler) who have come together to put on events to raise money for Palestinians and Palestinian resistance.

The organisers of this event acknowledge that the fundraiser will take place on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to their elders past and present. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
