Volcanic Rocks of Aramoana
Aramoana Beach Parking
aramoana, new zealand
Event description
Peer into the fiery volcanic past that built today’s landscapes around Otago Harbour.
Observe hands-on how and why eruptions changed dramatically through time to build the landscapes we see today around Otago Harbour and surrounding hills. Engage in lively speculation of what the future may bring.
It will involve mostly flat walking through loose sand with possible scrambling over wet, jagged rocks depending on tides.
Guided by Mike Palin from the University of Otago’s Geology Department.
