Trans-Tasman Voluntary Assisted Dying Conference 2024

Event description

Go Gentle Australia and VADANZ (Voluntary Assisted Dying Australia & NZ) present the second trans-Tasman Voluntary Assisted Dying National Conference in Brisbane on 28-29 October 2024.

Join the growing community of voluntary assisted dying (VAD) health professionals, policymakers, peak bodies and health advocacy organisations to share, reflect and build the future of end-of-life care in Australia and New Zealand.

What to expect?
This conference recognises the importance of VAD as a growing body of clinical practice and provides a space to learn more about VAD, the people and systems involved, and what can be improved.

Following the success of, and feedback from, last year's inaugural conference we have placed a greater focus on research, partnering with the Australian Centre for Health Law Research at QUT.

You will have the chance to connect and meet with trans-Tasman colleagues, hear from leaders in VAD practice and take part in interactive sessions on the theme of Equity and Access. You will:

  • Get the latest updates and emerging challenges and issues in VAD in the last 12 months
  • Understand the experiences of those frontline in VAD care, including healthcare professionals, patients and families
  • Explore innovations and new VAD models of care
  • Learn from the experiences of other jurisdictions.
