Event description

A breakfast mingle and workshop to celebrate those who already support us and welcome the volunteer-curious in for a chat...

Come along for a free, informal morning where you can have a feed, meet the VPCC staff, find out about the goings on at the Centre and take part in a Gifts Discovery workshop by Befriend's Elaine Olsen! This workshop will help us all understand what our unique gifts are to the world and how or where we might like to apply them in the context of volunteering.

We're holding this event celebrate our current volunteers who lend their hand at VPCC in various ways as well as welcome the 'volunteer curious' in to think out loud with us about what a meaningful community contribution at the Centre might look like for you.

Maybe you...

Want to start a club or group?

Take the reins cultivating our wee garden?

Support a regular event like our Cultural Dinners held with VPCA?

Gain some experience in community work?

Lend your handy-person super powers from time to time?

Maybe you just want to forge some new social bonds... we're all ears!

Even if you're not sure but have some spare time and would find volunteering rewarding.

Come on down, let's chat!

What is a 'Gifts Discovery' Workshop?

From Befriend:

Are you seeking deeper connections or yearning to enrich your daily life? Perhaps you're navigating the intricate choices of career, relationships, and personal growth?

Dive into our Introduction to Gifts Workshop for a vibrant and enlightening journey into the heart of what makes you unique. Hosted by the enthusiastic team at Befriend Inc., this workshop is your gateway to uncovering the passions and gifts that illuminate your path forward.

In this engaging two-hour session, we'll embark on a delightful exploration of your intrinsic gifts, distinguishing them from skills and strengths, in a way that's both insightful and playful. It's an opportunity to connect with others, engage in mutual discovery and share the joy of uncovering hidden treasures within.

You'll leave with a newfound clarity about your distinct gifts, armed with insights that align with your core values and aspirations. This workshop isn't just about self-discovery; it's about setting the course for a life that truly resonates with who you are.

Don't miss out on this chance to shine brighter. Join us and let's uncover the unique light within you!

Please note: volunteering need not be onerous and could be a one-off as well as regular commitment. We are very flexible and want to support peoples interests and ambitions as much as gain an extra pair of hands here and there.

What to expect: a friendly, informal atmosphere where you can have some brekky on us, meet the VPCC staff/find out more about the Centre, take part in an inspiring workshop and meet some of your neighbours.

Access: Vic Park Community Centre has step free access, a disabled toilet with baby change, access to outdoor space and gender neutral toilets. We try our best to make our events inclusive of all, please email: community@vicparkcc.org.au if you have any questions or would like to flag any access or learning requirements.

In order to help us cater correctly, we ask people not to book unless you intend on attending ~ as well as please, please cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend. Thank you!

This is a late National Volunteer Week 2024 event to acknowledge the generous contribution of volunteers, thanks for the generous funding from Lotterywest and support from Volunteering WA.
