Sort Food Donations for Hungry Neighbors (Metro Caring)

Minimum Age: 12+

Agenda:

12:00-12:10 - Welcome and Check In

12:10-12:30 - Overview, Tour, and Instructions

12:30-2:45 - Prepare, Sort, and Inspect Food Donations

2:45-3:00 - Clean Up and Thank You

What We Will Do:

Project Helping volunteers will help in the warehouse to inspect, clean, sort, and box food items so they can be transferred to the market for families to take home.

What to Bring:

*As of Aug. 1, all volunteers at Metro Caring must be vaccinated in order to participate.

A surgical or kn95 mask (cloth/reusable masks are not acceptable) 

Closed-toe shoes

Comfortable clothing

Water is recommended

Where to Park:

**Location:** Metro Caring

St. Joseph's Hospital offers free parking on the top floor of the garage at 1960 North Ogden Street for volunteers. Turn into the entrance for Midtown Medical Offices, then turn left into the parking garage, and find a spot on the top floor.

Where to Meet:

Enter the Volunteer and Donations door located on the southeast side of the building (on the alley side of the parking lot). Follow the posted signs to the Volunteer and Education Center, located on the second floor. We will meet in the sitting area outside the Volunteer and Education Center.

Check in with your Project Helping Kynd Leader when you arrive. They will be wearing a bright lime green shirt, and will stick with you during the entire experience to make sure you have a blast!
